Learning To Lead
Self leadership and the ability to lead others is a skill that is vital for the long term success of
students. Leadership is however often taught in a boring sit down and listen sort of fashion.
Learning To Lead is very different. This presentation is tons of fun and the students love it. Using
experiential learning techniques we draw on volunteers and use physical interactive activities that the
students love.
Because this presentation is so much fun while still sending a strong message about the skills
required to be an effective leader we have a 100% success rate with this presentation.
Students love it and you will too!
As this presentation is lots of fun it is suitable for all students in addition to the student council,
leadership days, leadership camps.
Topics:
Leaders are not victims they influence their environment.
If you are empathetic you will be a better leader.
Leaders take on risks and challenges that others won’t.
Clear communication increases the effectiveness of your leadership.
Solving problems requires brains not muscles.
People are motivated by what benefits them. Good leaders harness this knowledge.
Leaders take charge especially when things are going wrong.
Without initiative the list above is pointless.

| The Leadership Game
Leadership is a "doing" activity and learning the theory of leadership can only get you so far. We
developed The Leadership Game to provide a fun way for students to practice their leadership skills.
The Leadership Game uses 15 students that are promoted to manager. These managers man 15
activity stations around the room. The remaining students are required to go up to each of these 15
stations in order to complete a leadership task.
The first student to complete all 15 tasks is deemed the supreme leader and is our winner.
When you play this game you see how not only the station managers develop their leadership skills
but the participating students often have to motivate their friends to help them complete the activities.
Very physical and very fun!
